Trying to remember when to do what becomes a thing of the past if you print out this checklist and keep it handy. Even better - schedule the jobs into your planner! Your vehicle will run better and look good, and you won't have to worry about it anymore. Make it a habit.
EVERY GAS FILLUP:
Wash windshield
Throw out garbage and empty ashtrays
Wash exterior if needed
EVERY OTHER GAS FILLUP:
EVERY 3 MONTHS:
Check air filter
Change oil and oil filter
Check transmission fluid
Lubricate chassis (if required)
Vacuum and polish interior
EVERY 6 MONTHS:
Check power steering fluid
Check mileage and compare to lease allowance (if leased)
EVERY YEAR:
Compare savings with budget, to check progress toward next vehicle
Decide if it will be better to keep the current one or trade it at the next opportunity
Check exhaust system for broken clamps, holes and rust.
