Establishing Routines A bedtime routine and a morning routine, firmly in place for each member of the family, makes getting out the door a calm and enjoyable experience. Routines would include personal grooming and preparing clothing, schoolwork, lunches etc. the evening before.
Losing Things It's easy to lose things if they don't belong anywhere. If it becomes a habit to put the keys on the hook as soon as you close the door, the keys are always where they should be. Apply the same principle to every item you own and they will never get lost.
Remembering Things The more routines and habits you incorporate, the easier it will be. For things that don't occur regularly you need one good system such as a calendar or PDA and develop the habit of using it and looking at it regularly.
Being on Time Figure out what time you have to leave by counting backward - and then set the timer to go off 5 minutes before that. Make sure you know how to get there. Look at a map the night before if you're going somewhere new.
Errands Assign one day as Errand Day. Mark in your planner everything that comes up, then plan the best route. Can you do it all one evening on your way home from work?
Wardrobes Only keep in your closet what fits you and looks good on you now. If it needs to be repaired, don't hang it up. Designate a spot for things that need buttons, hems or ironing. Lay out tomorrow's clothes when you go to bed.
