Clean it out and reorganize at the beginning of each season
Only keep the current season's clothing here
Store off season clothing and accessories in a wardrobe in the basement or in a spare bedroom closet
Install large hooks on the walls inside the closet to hang bags, dog leashes, clothes brushes, backpacks, etc.
Buy a large plastic basket for each member of the family to store mitts, hats and other items in. Put the baskets on a shelf for the adults and on the floor for children
If the door opens outward, mount a hanging rack for more storage space.
