Tall laundry hampers and clean garbage cans make good containers to store bulky sports items
An old golf bag holds long handled tools like shovels and rakes
Make a place to keep all the car care items together
Install a shelf on the ceiling for storage of skis, toboggans, snowboards
Install hooks on the walls for hoses
Hangers on the walls can hold brooms and shovels
Attach shelves high on the walls to store seasonal items and switch with the things on the lower shelves as the seasons change
Coffee cans, tins and plastic containers work well for small objects, such as nails, nuts & bolts, etc.
A pegboard on the wall with various shapes and sizes of hooks may be useful
Put things in clear plastic containers and label them, so you know exactly what is in them
Label the shelves A, B, C etc.
Post a master list on the wall and list the items stored on each shelf and in each container
Place a thermometer in the garage and check it monthly, as products such as paint and craft supplies can be ruined by extreme heat or cold. Read the product labels for storage temperatures
Leave the items used most often near the door, for easy access
