Write down everything you want to accomplish tomorrow. Mark an A beside the ones that will help you reach your goals. Mark a B beside the ones that are necessary or maintenance items, and a C for the things that you will do if you have time for them, after your A's and B' s are finished. Work through the list in order. Of course there will be interruptions and items that aren't on your list, but you'll accomplish much more with a list like this.
Concentrate on the "Urgent and Important".
If it isn't urgent, it can wait. If it isn't important, either don't do it, or let someone else do it. Focus on doing the things that make a difference in reaching your goals
Do the most disagreeable jobs first
If you have to do something that you don't want to, just do it as soon as possible and then you won't have to waste any more time thinking about it.
Designate a specific location for your keys, watch, wallet and other important everyday items.
Put them away as soon as you walk through the door. Simple, but effective.
Cuts down on 95% on wasted time searching for lost things.
Keep a telephone log beside the phone. Write in the date, the phone number, the name of the person and details of the conversation. This way you don't have to rely on your memory if the question of "who said what and when", comes up.
Organize Your Television Viewing. Turn it off if it isn't something you have planned in advance to watch. How much extra time a day will you gain by using this one trick???
Keep a master family calendar in a conspicuous place.
Write on it all the events that concerns everyone. It will make it much easier to synchronize schedules.
Consider once a month cooking. Or at the least, make an extra casserole for the freezer while you're doing one. Make sure to mark the meal on the calendar, on the date you are planning to eat it, otherwise it may be forgotten until it's too late. Use your crock pot more often. Dinner's ready when you walk in the door! Smells gooood.
Carry a notebook or a tape recorder with you at all times.
Capture every idea that pops into your head during the day. Your chances of forgetting important things will drastically decrease, and those fleeting flashes of inspiration won't be lost forever.
Don't overschedule yourself. Leave some breathing room, for relaxing, thinking, and for a buffer in case something comes up unexpectedly.
