Bathroom Organizing

  • Assign a colour to each family member for towels and face cloths.

  • Look at the furniture in other rooms for inspirational storage units.

  • A tiered plant stand or hanging fruit basket can be used to store toiletries.

  • Keep all hair care equipment together in a basket or other pretty container.

The Medicine Chest

  • Take everything out of it and wipe the shelves down

  • Throw out all medications over one year old - ask the pharmacist how to dispose of them safely

  • Throw out anything else you haven't used in more than 5 years

  • Throw out or give away any duplicate items

  • Group together the items you use every day and place them in one spot back in the cabinet.

  • Assign one shelf or one section for every person that uses that bathroom.

  • Apply labels to the edges of the shelves, identifying what belongs there.

  • Store your medicines in a kitchen cupboard or other place. Warm, humid bathroom environments can cause some medicines to deteriorate.

  • Purchase or make a First Aid Kit and keep everything you need for emergencies in it.
